Wassyl Iwassyuk
Vasyl Iwassjuk ( Ukrainian Василь Івасюк ; born January 21, 1960 in the village of Dora near Yaremche ) is Bishop of Kolomyia-Chernivtsi .
Life
Wassyl Iwassjuk was ordained a priest on August 16, 1989 . He was incardinated on July 21, 2000 in the clergy of the Sokal Eparchy .
Pope John Paul II appointed him on July 28, 2003 Archbishop Exarch of Odessa-Crimea and Titular Bishop of Benda . The Archbishop of Kiev and Grand Archbishop of Kiev-Halych , Cardinal Lubomyr Husar MSU , donated him episcopal ordination on September 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Mychajlo Sabryha CSsR , Bishop of Ternopil-Sboriw , and Mychajło Kołtun , Bishop of Sokal-Showkwa . As a motto he chose Господь моя сила ( The Lord is my strength ).
On February 13, 2014 he was appointed Bishop of Kolomyia-Chernivtsi by Pope Francis . The inauguration took place on March 22nd of the same year.
