The archeparchy Ternopil-Zboriv ( lat. : Archieparchia Ternopoliensis-Zborovensis ) is in the Ukraine located archeparchy the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church , based in Ternopil .
history
The Archeparch of Ternopil-Sboriw was established on April 20, 1993 by Pope John Paul II from the cession of territory to the Archeparch of Lemberg as the Eparchy of Ternopil . On July 21, 2000, the Ternopil eparchy gave up parts of its territory to establish the eparchies of Buschatsch and Sokal . The Ternopil Eparchy was renamed the Ternopil-Sboriw Eparchy on July 21, 2000 and in 2011 it was elevated to an Archparchy.
Until 2011 it was subordinate to the Archeparchy of Kiev as a suffragan diocese.
The Ternopil-Sboriv Archepark includes the Khmelnitsky Oblast and the northern part of the Ternopil Oblast . The area is shown in light blue in the middle part of the map.
On December 11, 2015, Pope Francis approved the spin-off of territorial shares for the establishment of the Kamyanets-Podilskyi eparchy by resolution of the Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
