Watermael-Boitsfort ( French ) or Watermaal-Bosvoorde ( Dutch ) is one of 19 municipalities in the bilingual Brussels-Capital Region in Belgium . The municipality has 25,184 inhabitants (January 1, 2019) on 12.9 square kilometers. It is located in the south of the capital region and borders the municipalities of Uccle / Ukkel , Brussels , Ixelles / Elsene and Auderghem / Oudergem . The municipality is a residential area and is located on the Forêt de Soignies / Zoniënwoud , the urban forest in the south of Brussels.
The two tumuli in the Forêt de Soignes are located in the 11 hectare forest, southwest of the city.
