The Wegenerskopf is 587.1  m above sea level. NN the highest elevation of the Ramberg ridge , a massive granite in the Harz Mountains in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt .

Geographical location

The Wegenerskopf is located in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park, east-northeast of the village of Friedrichsbrunn , a southern district of the city of Thale . Its highest point is in the west of the column moor nature reserve . The Friedenstalbach rises in the southeast, the Kleiner Uhlenbach in the southwest and the Wurmbach in the northwest.

There is a transmission tower about 180 m west-northwest of the summit . A little further in this direction, the state road  240 leading to Thale branches off from the L 239 ( Güntersberge –Friedrichsbrunn– Bad Suderode ) immediately northeast of Friedrichsbrunn . About 2.3 km south-southeast of the summit of the Wegenerskopf, which slopes gently in this direction, lies the Erichsberg castle ruins above the Friedenstalbach and about 1.8 km east-southeast is the Viktorshöhe ( 581.5  m above sea level ).
