history

On October 7, 1325, Prince Heinrich II of Mecklenburg gave his consent to Hermann von Rambow being allowed to sell a hoof from the village of "Rambow" to the city of Wismar. This document is the first mention of the village. At that time the district had 45 houses and a manor house and was administratively connected to the village of Mecklenburg . From 1357 at the latest, the possession of Rambow fell to the city of Wismar.

During the 15th and 16th centuries, large parts of Rambow were desolate . In 1528 only the innkeeper and two cottagers lived in the village . Five cottages in the village were vacant.

On Aug. 5, 1938 Wendisch Rambow was during the Germanization in the German Empire at the time of National Socialism in small Rambow renamed. This name was initially retained after 1945 and only changed back to Wendisch Rambow on March 31, 1949.

Wendisch Rambow was in the Wismar Domain Office , which belonged to the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . On July 1, 1950, the village was incorporated into Niendorf . On July 25, 1952, Wendisch Rambow was assigned to the newly formed Schwerin District in the Schwerin District. From June 20, 1956, Wendisch Rambow was reclassified to the community of Groß Stieten and on June 1, 1961, again to the town of Bad Kleinen .

After the fall of the Wall , Wendisch Rambow was initially in the Schwerin-Land district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. After the district reform in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on June 12, 1994 , Wendisch Rambow was assigned to the newly founded district of Northwest Mecklenburg . On January 1, 2005, the Bad Kleinen office , to which Wendisch Rambow had belonged since 1992, was dissolved and the place was reclassified into the new Dorf Mecklenburg-Bad Kleinen office .
