Wendy Schaal (born July 2, 1954 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Wendy Schaal, daughter of actor Richard Schaal , made her debut in an episode of the 1976 television series Welcome Back, Kotter . Her first film role was in the biopic This Land is My Land from 1976. Starred in this two Academy Award-winning film she played the role of Mary Jo Guthrie , sister of Woody Guthrie ( David Carradine ). From 1980 to 1981 she was in the television series It's a Living .

In the SF horror film The Dark Power of Darkness (1985) Schaal took on one of the bigger roles. In the comedy My Devilish Neighbors (1989) with Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher , she played the role of Bonnie , the wife of Mark Rumsfield ( Bruce Dern ). She played a bigger role on the side of Bill Pullman in the comedy The U-Boot Academy from 1990. Since 2005 she lends her voice in the animated television series American Dad to the character of Francine Smith , the wife of the CIA - Agent Stan Smith , whose text is voiced by Seth MacFarlane .

From 1977 to 1987 she was married to Stephen M. Schwartz. She has a son.
