action

Shortly before Christmas, Nick Snowden, the son of Santa Claus, has his hands full so that all children can get their presents and the people of the traditional tradition can celebrate together. This year he has Sandy by his side, with whom he actually wanted to finally spend a quiet holiday season, but during reindeer training he realizes shockingly that the reindeer have become too fat and can no longer fly. So he has to come up with something to get her in shape before the festival. He indirectly blames Sandy for taking over the feeding for the year. So one word leads to another and in the event of an argument, Nick decides to go on a trip using his magic mirror. He ends up in a garage and has such a hard landing that he passes out and eventually wakes up in a hospital. The bad thing is that he has now lost his memory and no longer knows that he is Santa Claus. Who should prepare the festival now? Sandy learns of the accident when the television reports on the man without a memory. She really wants to travel to see him, but doesn't know how to use the mirror. She seeks advice in Santa's book and learns from Galfired, the keeper of the book, that she must never confront Nick with the truth, otherwise he could irretrievably forget everything. He alone has to find his memories again. With this information, Sandy sets off on the trip, but she doesn’t meet Nick in the clinic, because his archenemy, Buck Seger, had also seen the pictures on the news and decided to kidnap Nick in order to maintain his amnesia . With a ticket to Bolivia, he drops him off at the train station and makes off again. Fortunately, Nick falls asleep, so he misses the train and meets Ryan, an orphan boy who seems to want to help him. Because Ryan is a pickpocket and wants to take advantage of Nick's naivety for his own purposes. While trying to escape the police, Nick ends up in an old, empty club. Here the confused Henry Mays awaits him and explains to him that this used to be his club and that he supposedly belongs to a secret society. He would have waited a long time for Nick to give him another really nice Christmas in his old days. Nick doesn't understand anything at first, but he becomes curious.

While searching for Nick, Sandy suddenly discovers Buddy. Apparently the reindeer followed her through the magic mirror. Now she hopes that Buddy can help her find Nick. He succeeds, but Nick doesn't recognize Sandy. Nevertheless, they are now following the mysterious clues from Henry Mays together. To do this, they have to kidnap the old man from his family so that he can help them organize the Christmas party for him in his old club. Ryan also helps to get a tree and to decorate it festively. Secretly, however, he hopes to be able to pursue his passion as a pickpocket at the Christmas party. Henry is already in the process of getting the members of his ominous "Karibu Club" together, but contrary to expectations, all of them say no. So the four sit all alone in a festively decorated hall.

After discovering the reindeer tracks in the snow, Buck is now able to travel through a mirror to the North Pole. There he ends up in the reindeer stable, but quickly finds his way into the house and there Santa's wish bag. So he gets this bundle of bills and is enthusiastic.

It's almost Christmas Eve now, and Sandy is doing everything he can to get Nick to remember. That's why in the end she tells him how he got here after their argument. To prove it, he should touch a mirror, but the magic no longer works and Nick leaves the room in resignation. As soon as he's gone, Buck comes through the mirror, grabs Sandy and kidnaps her. Henry and Ryan try to find Nick and convince him to bring Sandy back. This works because when Nick touches the mirror again after Ryan assured him that he just had to believe in it, the portal opens. For a brief moment he sees pictures from his past and begins to remember. Together with Buddy, he travels through the mirror to the North Pole to save not only Sandy, but also Christmas Eve. Once there, he has to deal with Buck, who is just about to harness the reindeer to disappear with his sack full of money. With Buddy's help, he pushes Buck through the mirror, where he too ends up in the garage and now loses his memory on impact.

Nick and Sandy return to Henry and Ryan, who are still waiting in the club for the hoped-for presents. And suddenly Nick's parents step through the mirror and explain that they too would celebrate their own Christmas here every year. Everyone in attendance celebrates their best Christmas party and Henry offers Ryan to take him. Nick and Sandy now have to hurry to bring the people their presents. While still in the sleigh, Sandy gives Nick her present and uses a little Santa suit to tell him that they will have a child.

criticism

Kino.de initially said: “The totally undemanding, but thoroughly entertaining Christmas film is the sequel to 'Reindeer Buddy saves Christmas' and, like the previous film, should shorten the wait for Christmas for the whole family. In the colorful fantasy fun, the likeable Canadian actor Thomas Cavanagh can be seen again in the role of Santa Claus, who this time is not looking for his kidnapped reindeer, but for his missing memory. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave the best rating (thumbs up), but wrote: "naive, over-the-top, nice."
