Werner Janssen (pseudonym: Heinz Hof ; * 1944 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German-Dutch philosopher , Germanist , political scientist and educator .

Life

Werner Janssen grew up in Mönchengladbach as well as Kerkrade and Heerlen (Netherlands). He studied linguistics and literature , philosophy , sociology , psychology , pedagogy , ethnology , political science and dialectics at the universities of Nijmegen , Heidelberg , Amsterdam and Aachen .

After graduating from the Universities of Nijmegen and Amsterdam, he received his PhD in 1984. suffered. at the University of Amsterdam with the dissertation The Rhythm of the Human . Janssen obtained his doctorate in 1991 from RWTH Aachen University. phil. with the dissertation Culture and Play - the dialogical expansion of natural scope .

After years of work as a pedagogue or German and philosophy teacher at a grammar school and a teaching position at RWTH Aachen for German and philosophy, Janssen is now professor for philosophy and German studies at Lomonossow University in Moscow , among others . He is the rector of the controversial and non-accredited Martin Buber University, where, in addition to his work as dean of the faculty for human education, he holds the Martin Buber chair for human education and philosophy.

He is an honorary professor at Moscow's Lomonosov University and a visiting professor at the Perm State Technical University and the Human Education University in Perm (Urals).

He teaches philosophy at the Open Universiteit Nederland in Heerlen (NL) and is often invited to give lectures on topics such as aesthetics, ethics and pedagogy.

Werner Janssen is the founder and director of the International Culture and Science Festival EURIADE, which he founded in 1981 . He is also the chairman of the board of trustees for awarding the Martin Buber plaque, which has been awarded at this festival since 2002.

He is also the artistic director of the AmadèO - Academia Musica da Camera international chamber music festival.
