Werner Otto Herman Krogmann (born February 5, 1901 in Hamburg ; † November 19, 1954 there ) was a German sailor .

Werner Krogmann came from a respected Hamburg family, Otto Wilhelm Krogmann was his father and Hermann August Krogmann his grandfather. He was a member of the elite sailing club Alster Pirate Club founded by his uncle, the well-known shipowner Richard Krogmann ("King Richard") .

Krogmann competed twice at the Olympic Games, in 1936 and 1952 , both times on the O-dinghy . The Olympic dinghy, or O-dinghy for short, was designed as a one-man regatta boat especially for the 1936 Games. Krogmann's boat, which like all of them had been provided by the organizing committee, was named Rostock . The sailing competitions off Kiel suffered from stormy weather, so the wind strengths of 7 to 8 prevailed at the first regatta of the O-dinghy . Krogmann won the silver medal behind Daan Kagchelland from the Netherlands . 16 years later, at the Helsinki Games , he finished 15th.

In 1954 Werner Krogmann was German champion in the O-dinghy on the Steinhuder Meer and in the same year Vice European Champion on the Wannsee in Berlin .

The original O-Jolle Rostock , later renamed Mien Jung , is exhibited in the Sport & Olympia Museum in Cologne .
