Werner von Gustedt-Lablacken

Werner von Gustedt-Lablacken (* July 12, 1842 in Garden ; † March 12, 1908 in Neuhausen ) was the owner of the manor and member of the German Reichstag .

Werner von Gustedt came from an old Lower Saxon noble family with the same family name near Hildesheim and was the son of the Prussian district administrator Werner von Gustedt , landlord at Gut Garden and later at Hof Rosenberg, and the writer Jenny von Gustedt , née Rabe von Pappenheim (1811–1890) . The mother was an illegitimate daughter of Jérôme Bonaparte (1784-1860), King of Westphalia , and thus Napoleon's niece .

Gustedt attended high school in Halberstadt and Magdeburg up to university. He made major trips in Europe and Africa. In 1865 he joined the 1st Guard Uhlan Regiment in Potsdam , where he participated as an officer in the wars of 1866 and 1870/71. In 1876 he was transferred to the East Prussian Cuirassier Regiment No. 3 (Count Wrangel) and in 1878 he took his leave as Rittmeister in order to devote himself to the management of his estates in Lablacken . He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John , holder of the Iron Cross and the Bavarian Order of Military Merit .

From 1878 to 1893 he was a member of the Provincial Landtag and from 1892 to 1898 a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . Between 1884 and 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Reichstag electoral district of Königsberg 2 ) and the German Conservative Party .

Werner von Gustedt carried the title of baron without official approval .
