Ludwig von Massow (born January 26, 1844 in Stargard , † June 6, 1914 in Parnehnen ) was a Prussian officer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Massow visited the cadet corps in Wahlstatt and Berlin . In 1863 he was an ensign on the Polish border, later he was a lieutenant in the 5th Cuirassier Regiment , Rittmeister in the 3rd Cuirassier Regiment and a regular staff officer in the Litthauisches Uhlan Regiment No. 12 . He took part in the wars of 1866 and 1870/71 with his regiments. In 1876, during the imperial maneuvers in Silesia and Brandenburg, he was commanded to His Imperial Highness the Grand Duke Nikolaus the Elder. From 1894 he was major in command of the Uhlan regiment “Kaiser Alexander III. von Russland "(West Prussian) No. 1 . In 1896, when Tsar Nicholas II presented his regiment to the Kaiser near Görlitz , he was awarded the Order of St. Anna II Class with diamonds. In May 1898 he asked for his departure, since he was a candidate for the Reichstag.

Later he dedicated himself to the management of the Parnehnen , Agnesenhof (Russian: Nesterowskoje) and Wachlacken (Malyje Topki, both no longer exist) estates . As an active officer, he was already a member of the district council for ten years, since 1900 a member of the district synod, since 1902 a member of the provincial synod and from 1909 to 1914 a member of the provincial parliament of the East Prussia province . He was also chairman of the warrior association and honorary chairman of the naval association of the Wehlau district.

From 1898 to 1907 and from 1912 to 1914 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Reichstag electoral district of Königsberg 2 and the German Conservative Party .

He was the owner of the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with ribbon, the Crown Order II. Class, the Service Award Cross and since 1892 right knight of the Order of St. John .
