The LWL University Hospital Bochum of the Ruhr University Bochum consists of two clinics, namely the Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Preventive Medicine and the Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy. The clinic is run by the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL).

history

The Clinic for Psychiatry was established in 1983 in the building of the former Westphalian State Women's Clinic and opened in 1984 under the name Westfälisches Zentrum Bochum - Psychiatry and Psychotherapy . The clinic was a founding member of the Bochum model , the forerunner of today's university clinic of the Ruhr University. The current name was also introduced here. The Clinic for Psychosomatics was relocated from the former department of the same name at the LWL Clinic Dortmund to Bochum in 2010 , where it was incorporated into the LWL University Clinic as an independent clinic.

Facilities

In addition to inpatient services, the clinic also offers semi-inpatient and outpatient treatments. In addition to the clinic in Alexandrinenstrasse, the LWL University Clinic also includes two day clinics and an institute outpatient clinic, each in Bochum . The day clinic at Alexandrinenstrasse 1–3 (with the institute's outpatient department) has a sociotherapeutic focus, the day clinic at Klinikstrasse 58 has a psychotherapeutic focus. Furthermore, a day hospital exists with gerontopsychiatrischem approach.

In addition, the house has a work training workshop and a gym.
