Wettis is a hamlet that belongs to the village of Langnau and thus to the Baden-Württemberg city ​​of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district.

location

The hamlet of Wettis is located about 8½ kilometers southeast of the center of Tettnang at an altitude of 488  m above sea level. NHN on the southern edge of the Degersee , between the Riedensweiler belonging to Kressbronn in the west and the villages belonging to Lindau Hörbolz in the southeast and Bechtersweiler in the south.

With its location directly on the Bavarian border, Wettis is the southernmost hamlet in the Tettnang urban area.

The slopes and meadows around Wettis are drained to the north into the Degersee and to the south by the Langenmoosbach , which flows over the Fallenbach into the Nonnenbach .

history

To the north of Wettis, to the east and west of the Höhenberg , there used to be a ring castle and the Käpfle ski jump right on the banks of the Degersee .

Schachried

To the west of the Wettis courtyard is the Schachried nature reserve . The main protection purpose of this area is the preservation and upgrading of the large flat bog complex with various types of biotope such as bog soils , litter and pipe grass meadows .

Wettis is not part of the public transport network of the Bodensee-Oberschwaben Verkehrsverbund ( bodo ). The next stops are in Busenhaus and Hörbolz.

Several hiking trails marked by the city of Tettnang and the city of Lindau run through Wettis.
