Whitehall is a small town (with the status " City ") and the administrative seat of Trempealeau County in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 Whitehall had 1,558 residents.

Geography and traffic

Whitehall is at 44 ° 22 'north latitude and 91 ° 19' west longitude, extends over 4.3 km² at an altitude of 251 meters above sea level. The city is located at the confluence of Pigeon Creek and Trempealeau River .

The US Highway 53 runs from the southeast to the city. Wisconsin Highway 121 comes into the city from the west . Both roads leave the city in a north-easterly direction together.

The city was founded on the route network of the "Green Bay and Western Railroad". Rail service is currently provided by Canadian National .

The La Crosse Municipal Airport is located 70 kilometers south of the city.

The nearest major cities are Eau Claire (approx. 60 km north), La Crosse (approx. 70 km south) and the Twin Cities ( Minneapolis and Saint Paul ) in Minnesota (approx. 230 km northwest). Madison , the capital of the state is approx. 250 km southeast and Chicago , the next megacity , approx. 470 km southeast.
