Hunt for Mr. Tout (Original title: Who Is Cletis Tout?; Alternative title: Just 90 minutes ; Cletis Tout - Dead or Alive (DVD release 2008)) is an American - Canadian crime comedy from 2001 . Directed by Chris Ver Wiel , who also wrote the script.

action

The film begins with the hit man known as Critical Jim breaking into Trevor Allen Finch's hotel room and tying him up. Critical Jim then calls his client and requests a transfer to his account within 90 minutes, otherwise he lets Finch run. When spelling the account number, he uses parts of the titles of old films.

While waiting, Finch tells the killer what happened before. Micah Donnelly stole approximately $ 4.5 million worth of diamonds that he buried in a meadow in the 1970s. He is arrested and sentenced to a long prison term; 20 years later, he and the forger Finch escape from prison together.

Meanwhile, the reporter Cletis Tout, who works for scandal newspapers, films an act of love in which the son and successor of a mafia boss strangles a woman. The Mafia boss has Tout killed. Finch and Donnelly assume false identities, with Finch using Tout's identity. The mafia chief orders an attack on the alleged reporter, in which Donnelly is accidentally killed.

Finch and Donnelly's daughter Tess look for the hiding place for the diamonds together. They discover that a prison has been built on the meadow in the meantime. Finch reports to the police under the name Tout and tells them about the attacks. Tess faked another attack in front of the police building, whereupon Finch is locked up for his safety in the prison where the gems were hidden. He finds the diamonds and at the same time one of the policemen discovers his true identity. Finch suggests that he hand over the taping of the murder if the cop lets him go - which the cop responds to.

Finch notes that Tess wasn't interested in the diamond - which she left him completely - but only in a family photo hidden with the diamonds.

The Mafiosi are arrested while Critical Jim waits to be called back. Finch is released; He's late for the train Tess was supposed to take away, but she stays on the platform and waits for him.
