Wiesenbatterie Schillig is the name of a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Wangerland in the Friesland district .
The nature reserve with the NSG WE 130 label is 6.6 hectares in size. It is completely part of the EU bird sanctuary "Wangerland". The Wiesenbatterie Schillig is a former defensive structure northwest of Schillig and northeast of Minsen , which was built before the First World War and largely blown up in 1945 after the Second World War . As a wooded area in the otherwise largely treeless marsh, the area is of particular importance for the bird world.
The area has been a nature reserve since August 7, 1982. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Friesland.
