Victor Dolidze

Victor Isidore dse Dolidze ( Georgian ვიქტორ ისიდორეს ძე დოლიძე * July 18 jul. / The 30th July  1890 greg. In ozurgeti ; †  24. May 1933 in Tbilisi ) was a Georgian - Soviet composer .

Life

Dolidse came from a poor farming family and graduated from the Tbilisi Business School . In 1910 he won first prize in a mandolin playing competition . He then studied at the Kiev Economic Institute. He also studied violin with Michail Erdenko and composition at the Kiev Conservatory, from which the Kiev Conservatory split off in 1913 . In 1917 he graduated and returned to Georgia to devote himself entirely to music .

Dolidse created a number of operas , including the first Georgian comic opera Keto und Kote (Tbilisi 1919), for which he himself wrote the libretto after Awksenti Zagareli's comedy Chanuma , Lejla after Zagarelis Lekis kali guljawari (Tbilisi 1919) and Zisana after a 1917 Author by Sezman Ert'acmindeli (Tbilisi 1929). He collected and then recorded the Ossetian folk music and created small orchestral pieces , so the dance Ossetian Lezghinka , the invitation to dance and Chonga-Kaft . In 1931, based on the Ossetian sagas Tschermen and Samīra , he began to work on the opera Samīra , which he could no longer complete.
