action

Victor Maynard is a professional killer , like his parents before him. His current target is Rose, who sold a fake Rembrandt to the collector Ferguson . When Victor is shadowing Rose, he is so fascinated by her that the assassination attempt fails. Victor apologizes to his client and tries a second time without success. When two more contract killers appear, Victor helps Rose to escape, whereby the uninvolved Tony becomes involved in the matter. Without knowing that Victor is a targeted killer, Rose asks him for protection. Tony thinks Victor is a private detective and hopes to do an apprenticeship with him and learn some tricks. To hide, they rent a hotel in which Rose's pursuers have also booked a room. The betrayed collector hires a new killer, Dixon.

Victor, Rose and Tony escape to Victor's country house, where Victor lives alone with his cat. After initial problems, Victor and Rose get closer. However, when she learns the truth about his job and has to assume that he still wants to kill her, she flees. Tony, whom she previously told that Victor is actually a professional killer, doesn't really care.

In the meantime, Dixon has identified and killed the real Rembrandt forger . When Rose returns to the gallery , Dixon is already waiting for her. He forces her to take him to the country house, where Tony is doing target practice. Victor should shoot Rose, then at least Tony will survive. But both confess their love. With the help of Victor's mother, who suddenly appears, it is possible to kill Dixon and his helper and bury them in the garden. Victor and Rose become a couple, and Tony also stays in the country house.

reception

criticism

“'Wild Target' is a quirky little comedy far from unexpected plotlines. Bill Nighy is a show and the rest of the cast also act with an esprit that would have suited the script well. "
