The torrent , also called Neuseebach on the upper reaches , is the almost six kilometers long right and northern source stream of the Steinach in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt . It is often seen as a tributary of the Steinach.

course

The torrent arises in the Hesselbacher Waldland , which is also called Schweinfurt Rhön , from three sources. The source of the longest spring brook rises at a height of 360  m above sea level. NHN in the Hofstrich corridor to the south-east of the Schonungener district, Löffelsterz, not far from the district road SW 4 . This spring arm initially flows in an easterly direction, then crosses under SW 4 and runs along the northern edge of the Heimchen forest . At the Geigerswiesen corridor , it joins a second spring stream, which originated from two springs. One of these sources is in the Humprechtshausen district in the municipality of Riedbach in the Haßberge district .

The combined stream now runs in an easterly direction on the southern edge of a forest through the fields and meadows of the Geigerswiesen corridor and then feeds the small Neusee . The torrent then moves south-southeast through the wooded Birkenschlag plain and forms a second small pond a good half a kilometer later.

It now flows about 700 m north of the village of Abersfeld west-southwest through the meadows and fields of the Speichergrund , then crosses the district road SW 4 and is then strengthened on its right by a nameless forest and Wisen stream. A little further down the stream it enters the leaf litter forest area and forms a row of small fish ponds there .

It disappears underground on the wooded winter slope of the Burgberg ( 357  m above sea level ), then reappears on the surface a good kilometer later on the eastern edge of the Marktsteinach district of Schonungen and immediately joins the Grundwiesen corridor at a height of 261  m ü. NHN with the Abersfelder Mühlbach to Steinach coming from the southeast .
