Wildenhain is a part of the municipality Mockrehna in the district of North Saxony (Saxony).
geography
The place Wildenhain is north of the main town Mockrehna on the state road 16 in the Dübener Heide between the towns of Eilenburg and Torgau . The federal road 87 and the Halle – Cottbus railway line run south of the village . The Torfhaus settlement area belongs to the district .
history
Wildenhain was created in the Middle Bronze Age around 1900 to 1200 BC.
The place was first mentioned in documents in 1314.
In 1929 the hamlet of Torfhaus was incorporated. In 1949 the place had the highest number of inhabitants to date with 840 inhabitants. On January 1, 1999, the Wildenhain community came to the Mockrehna community.
