Wildenaube is a district of the municipality of Langenwetzendorf in the Thuringian district of Greiz on the federal road 92 ( Gera - Greiz ).

The federal road 92 touches the place on a higher terrain plateau coming from Weida leading to Greiz.

history

The village of Wildenaube was first mentioned in a document in 1751. It was created on the grounds of a Lunzig manor. According to legend, it got its name from the first bird that settled in a pub. On the other hand, there is evidence of an inn for 1751 that was named "Wilde Taube".

Wildenaube has been a member of the Leubatal administrative association since 1991, which was dissolved on December 31, 2013. Wild pigeon was incorporated into Langenwetzendorf at the same time. Its two districts Altgernsdorf and Wittchendorf also became independent districts of Langenwetzendorf .
