history

The place was first mentioned in a document on May 23, 1449. Zoghaus belonged to the Principality of Reuss older line, Amt Obergreiz, after the end of the monarchy to the Free State of Reuss a.L. and from April 4, 1919 to the People's State of Reuss. On May 1, 1920 this went on in the state of Thuringia. From October 1, 1922 (when the Thuringian District Division Act came into force), Zoghaus was part of the Greiz district. Zoghaus remained in the Greiz district even after July 25, 1952. On March 8, 1994, Zoghaus changed its district membership and became part of the Langenwetzendorf unified community - this changed from the Greiz district to the Zeulenroda district on July 25, 1952 .
