Neugernsdorf is a district of the municipality Langenwetzendorf in the district of Greiz in Thuringia .
history
The presumably German foundation with its typical Gewanneflur was first mentioned in 1413. Until 1918 the place belonged to the Principality of Reuss older line . Until 1996 Neugernsdorf was a member of the administrative community Neumühle / Elster .
In the vicinity of Neugernsdorf green and purple slate was quarried over several centuries , which was mainly used for the typical Vogtland roofing. In other quarries in the area, the Cambrian slate was used for other architectural parts, such as window and door frames.
On December 31, 2013 Neugernsdorf was incorporated into Langenwetzendorf, and the Leubatal administrative community was dissolved at the same time.
