Wilfried Kittler

Wilfried Kittler (born May 14, 1929 in Lindenau , Senftenberg district ) is a former German diplomat . He was the GDR's ambassador to Morocco and Senegal .

Life

Kittler, son of a worker, studied foreign policy at the German Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam-Babelsberg and graduated in 1956 with the state examination.

From 1956 Kittler belonged to the diplomatic service of the GDR. From 1958 to 1961 he was third secretary at the embassy of the GDR in North Vietnam , from 1963 as acting consul general in the Kingdom of Cambodia , as counselor in Algeria and as an employee in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the GDR (MfAA), there among other things as head of the Cambodia Section, active. From June 1973 to October 1977 Kittler was the GDR's ambassador in the Moroccan capital Rabat . From December 1974 to October 1977 he was second accredited as ambassador to Senegal.

Kittler was received on June 19, 1973 to receive his credentials and on October 13, 1977 in connection with the termination of his activity by King Hassan II for a farewell visit. On December 5, 1974, Kittler was also received by the President of the Republic of Senegal, Léopold Sédar Senghor , to present the credentials.

After his return to the GDR, Kittler worked from 1977 as a political employee in the International Relations Department at the Central Committee of the SED .

Today Kittler is a member of the Society for the Protection of Civil Rights and Human Dignity and lives (2018) in Berlin.
