Life

Kloske came from a Polish-speaking family and, after graduating from high school in Leobschütz , studied theology at the University of Breslau from 1873 . There he became a member - also on the board - of the Catholic student association KStV Unitas-Breslau in the KV . Since the Wroclaw seminary was closed by the Prussian government due to the Kulturkampf , Kloske continued studying theology at the University of Prague and was ordained a priest in Prague in 1877 .

After various positions as chaplain , Kloske was a religion teacher in Berlin at the Luisenstädtische Oberrealschule as well as Polish chaplain from 1884 . In 1888 he was appointed to the Polish-speaking Mariengymnasium in Poznan as a religious and grammar school teacher .

In 1903 he became cathedral capitular , cathedral preacher of the Archdiocese of Gnesen-Posen and rain of the seminary.

In 1906 the Archbishop Florian Stablewski of Gnesen-Posen died. Kloske was a candidate for his successor, but was rejected by the Prussian government because it was feared that he would support the national Polish endeavors. On December 29, 1910, Pope Pius X appointed him auxiliary bishop, and he was consecrated as a bishop on February 19, 1911 by Edward Likowski , auxiliary bishop in Gniezno; Co-consecrators were Karl Augustin , auxiliary bishop in Breslau, and Jakob Klunder , auxiliary bishop in Culm (Chelmno). In addition to this office, Kloske was also vicar general of the Archdiocese of Gniezno-Posen from 1915 to 1920 .

After 1920, when Gniezno became Polish again, Kloske stayed there as auxiliary bishop and died a Pole in 1925.
