Life

Karl Augustin was the son of a farmer. He attended elementary school in Olbersdorf and then the grammar schools in Leobschütz and Neisse , where he passed the Abitur in 1870 . He then took part in the Franco-Prussian War and began studying theology at the University of Breslau in 1871 .
