List of Argentine chess players
The list of Argentine chess players contains chess players who are or were eligible to play for the Argentine Chess Federation and who meet at least one of the following conditions:
- Winner of one of the following FIDE titles: Grand Master , Honorary Grand Master , International Master , Grand Master of Women , International Master of Women;
- Holder of one of the following ICCF titles: Grand Master, Honored International Master, International Master, Grand Master of Women, International Master of Women;
- Winning an Argentine individual championship (open class or women's competition);
- a historical Elo rating of at least 2500 (before the Elo rating was introduced in July 1971).
General
In local chess, 22 grandmasters, 65 international masters (including the only woman Carolina Luján , who is also the women's grandmaster), two women's grandmasters and 13 international women's champions are eligible to play for the Argentine Chess Federation. Seven grandmasters, two honorary grandmasters, 19 international masters and four international women champions have already died, four grandmasters, ten international champions and two international women champions are no longer eligible to play for the Argentine Federation.
In correspondence chess, 16 Argentine players have earned the title of Grand Master, 26 that of an Honored International Master, 65 that of an International Master, one player that of a Women's Grand Master and two that of an International Women's Master. Of these, one Grand Master, two Merited International Masters and eight International Masters have already passed away.
The Argentine individual championship was played 90 times, the women's championship 66 times. The record champion is Miguel Najdorf with eight titles, the women's competition was won by Dora Trepat de Navarro with eight titles the most.
Another ten Argentine players achieved a historic rating of at least 2500 before July 1971 .

- Other associations : For players who were sooner or later eligible to play for at least one other association, this indicates these associations with the periods of eligibility to play (if known).
