Fernando Rodrigo Peralta (born December 16, 1979 in Lomas de Zamora , Buenos Aires Province ) is an Argentine chess player .

Life

He learned to play chess at the age of eight. When he was eleven he joined the chess club Club Montegrande . In 2001 he moved to Barcelona . He works there as a chess trainer for the chess club Club Cerdanyola del Valles and in 2017 played in the División de Honor for Escola d'Escacs de Barcelona . He also plays in France for the L'Echiquier Chalonnais club .

successes

Peralta was the Argentine youth champion in the age categories U14, U18 and U20. He won the Pan-American championship in 1997, 1998 and 1999. At the Argentine individual championships in 2001 and 2008 he was only second behind Rubén Felgaer , in 2006 he won the title (Felgaer was second). For example, he won tournaments in 2001 in Guaymallén, Argentina, and in Punta del Este , in 2002 in São José and in Avellaneda, near Mar del Plata , in 2003 in Sant Boi de Llobregat (shared with Wiktor Moskalenko ) and in Castellar del Vallès , in 2004 in Binissalem , 2005 in Andorra la Vella , 2006 in Athens (shared with Levan Aroschidze and Tamas Gelaschwili ), 2007 in Buenos Aires and Sabadell (shared with Wiktor Moskalenko) and 2009 in Deizisau ( Neckar Open ). In 2007 Peralta took part in the World Chess Cup , but failed in the first round to Ernesto Inarkiev .

With the Argentine national team he took part in the Chess Olympiads in 2002 (on the fourth board), 2006 (on the second board), 2008 (on the second board), 2010 (on the third board), 2012 (on the top board) and 2014 (on the top board). In the French team championship he played for L'Echiquier Chalonnais in the 2010/11 season . He has held the title of grandmaster since 2004 . He achieved the norms for this at the Catalan team championship in 2002, the Argentine championship in 2002 in Buenos Aires and the 8th Obert de Castellar tournament in Castellar del Vallès in July 2004. In February 2015, he is third behind Sandro Mareco and Rubén Felgaer of the Argentine Elo ranking.
