Alejandro Hoffman

Alejandro Sergio Hoffman (born October 26, 1966 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine chess player . He has been playing for Uruguay since 2018.

In 1987 he won the Argentine U26 championship. At the Argentine individual championship in 1997, he was runner-up. He played for Argentina at three Chess Olympiads : 1990 , 1998 and 2000 . He played twice in the Pan American Championships (1987 and 1995). At the FIDE World Championship in 1999 he was eliminated in the first round against Vladislav Tkachiev and in 2001 also in the first round against Pyotr Swidler .

In Spain he played for CA Marcote Mondariz and CA Escuela Int. Kasparov-Marcote Mondariz . With Mondariz he became the Spanish team champion in 2003 .

In 1988 he became International Master , and since 1998 he has held the title of Grand Master .
