Carlos Garcia Palermo (Spanish spelling Carlos García Palermo ; born December 2, 1953 in La Plata ) is an Argentine - Italian chess player .

He played for Argentina at the 1986 Chess Olympiad and for Italy at the 1992 and 2006 Chess Olympiad . He also took part in the 1985 World Team Chess Championship .

At the FIDE World Chess Championship in 2004 , he was eliminated in the first round against Ye Jiangchuan .

In Germany he played for SG Porz and SV 03/25 Koblenz .
