Diego Flores (born December 18, 1982 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ) is an Argentine chess player .

In 1998, Diego finished second at the Youth World Cup in Oropesa del Mar behind Ibragim Khamrakulov in the U16 age group.

He won the Argentine individual championship six times: 2005, 2009, 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2019. He played for Argentina at seven Chess Olympiads : 2006 to 2018 . In 2009 he took part in the Pan American championship.

In the 2005 World Chess Cup he was eliminated in the first round against Teymur Rəcəbov . At the Chess World Cup 2007 he failed in the first round to Laurent Fressinet , also at the Chess World Cup 2009 to Alexander Onischuk , at the Chess World Cup 2013 to Francisco Vallejo Pons , at the Chess World Cup 2017 in Tbilisi to Bu Xiangzhi and at the Chess World Cup 2019 in Khanty-Mansiysk to Gawain Jones .

In Spain he played for SCC Sabadell .
