División de Honor (chess) 2003
The División de Honor (chess) 2003 was the ninth season of the División de Honor and at the same time the 47th Spanish team championship in chess , it was played with ten teams. The champions were CA Marcote Mondariz's team, who relegated defending champion CA Tiendas UPI Mancha Real to second place. CCA CajaCanarias Santa Cruz, CA Alzira-Hilaturas Presencia and RC Labradores-Pub Magia Sevilla rose from the Primera División. While Santa Cruz achieved relegation, Alzira and Sevilla had to relegate together with CE Vulcà Barcelona.

mode
The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The last three were relegated to the Primera División and were replaced by the promoted from the Primera División. The game was played on four boards, the placement was first determined by the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the direct comparison and then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a tie, no point for a loss).
Dates and venue
The tournament was held in Lanzarote from December 6th to 14th .
Season course
CA Marcote Mondariz was at the top of the table from the 3rd round and won in the end with a 2.5 point lead. CA Alzira-Hilaturas Presencia, RC Labradores-Pub Magia Sevilla and CE Vulcà Barcelona had little chance of staying in the league before the last round and could indeed not avoid relegation.
