The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The last two were relegated to the Primera División and were replaced by the promoted from the Primera División. The game was played on four boards, the placement was first determined by the number of team points (three points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point) for a draw, no point for a loss).
Dates and venue
The tournament venues were Monta del Cuervo , Mondariz and Córdoba .
Season course
CE Vulcà Barcelona, UGA Barcelona and RC Labradores Sevilla emerged as title candidates early on. In the direct comparisons, each team landed a victory and suffered a defeat. Until the 7th round, Sevilla had the best prospects, as they won all other competitions, while the two clubs from Barcelona each made another draw. However, two defeats in the last few rounds threw RC Labradores Sevilla back to 3rd place. Vulcà and UGA ended tied for team points and board points, so that the direct comparison decided in favor of Vulcà. Oberena Pamplona SdA and CDE Hosteria de Cañete-Caymu Toledo were already relegated before the last round.
