División de Honor (chess) 2004
The División de Honor (chess) 2004 was the tenth season of the División de Honor and at the same time the 48th Spanish team championship in chess , it was played with ten teams. The champions were the team from CA Intel-Tiendas UPI Mancha Real, while the defending champion CA Marcote Mondariz only just managed to stay in seventh place. CA Reverté Albox, UGA Barcelona and CA Magic Mérida were promoted from the Primera División. All three newly promoted players achieved relegation, while CA iberCaja Zaragoza, CCA CajaCanarias Santa Cruz and UE Foment Martinenc Barcelona had to relegate.

mode
The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The last three were relegated to the Primera División and were replaced by the promoted from the Primera División. The game was played on four boards, the placement was first determined by the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the direct comparison and then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a tie, no point for a loss).
Dates and venue
The tournament was held in Sanxenxo from November 18th to 26th .
Season course
CA Intel-Tiendas UPI Mancha Real was at the top of the table for the entire tournament and won with a 2.5 point lead. The decision about relegation was made in the last lap.
