Spanish team championship in chess 1959

The Spanish team championship in chess in 1959 was the third edition of this competition. Six teams were at the start, namely CA Hogar Portuarios Valencia, three Madrid clubs (the defending champions Real Madrid, CA Chardenet Madrid and CA Maira Madrid) and two teams from Barcelona (CA Español Barcelona and CA Barcelona). Although the CA Español Barcelona managed to win all competitions, but since the board points decided the placement, Real Madrid successfully defended its title.

mode

The six participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament on eight boards. The number of points on the board decided on the placement (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat).

Dates and venue

The tournament was held from September 22nd to 26th at the Frontón Fiesta Alegre in Madrid .
