División de Honor (chess) 2016
The División de Honor 2016 was the 22nd season of the División de Honor and at the same time the 60th Spanish team championship in chess . It was held with eight teams. The champions were the team from Sestao Fundacion EDP, while the defending champions Club Ajedrez Solvay had to be content with fourth place. Equigoma Casa Social Catolica and Club Ajedrez Jaime Casas were promoted from the Primera División. Both promoted players achieved relegation, while CA Magic Extremadura and Chess24-VTI-Atocha had to relegate.

mode
The eight participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The game was played on seven boards, with at least one woman having to be used. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat) and then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat). The last two were relegated to the Primera División.
Dates and venue
The tournament was played in Monzón from September 26th to October 2nd .
