Primera División (chess) 1984
The Primera División (chess) 1984 was the top division of the 28th Spanish team championship in chess and was played with ten teams. The champion was the defending champion CE Vulcà Barcelona, from the Segunda División CE Barcelona and CAC Labradores Sevilla were promoted. For the coming year, the league mode with promotion and relegation was replaced by regional qualifying tournaments and a final round. The first two CE Vulcà Barcelona and CE Barcelona qualified directly for the final round of the 1985 Spanish Championship.

The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament , the first two qualified directly for the final round of the 1985 Spanish team championship. The game was played on four boards; the number of board points was initially determined by the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for one Draw, no point for a loss), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a loss) and then the direct comparison.

The tournament was held in Benidorm from October 22nd to 30th .
