Champion was UGA Barcelona, while the defending champion CE Vulcà Barcelona had to be content with eighth place. CE Barcino Barcelona and CA Cambre were promoted from the Primera División. In purely sporting terms, both promoted players managed to stay in the league, while EM El Olivar Zaragoza and CE Santa Margarita occupied the relegation places, but Cambre withdrew his team so that Zaragoza still remained in the División de Honor.

mode

The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The last two were relegated to the Primera División and were replaced by the promoted from the Primera División. The game was played on four boards, the placement was first determined by the number of team points (three points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point) for a draw, no point for a loss).

Dates and venue

The tournament was in Oropesa del Mar discharged.

Season course

After 6 of 9 rounds with UGA Barcelona, CE Barcino Barcelona, CA La Caja de Canarias and CA Villa de Teror four teams still had real chances for the title, after losing points from the competition, the competition between the clubs from Barcelona finally decided on the title in the last round. Barcino would have had to win at least 3-1 to become champions, but couldn't get past 2-2. CE Santa Margarita was clearly beaten at the end of the table and already had no chance of staying up with two laps to go. The other relegation candidates were close together, in the end EM El Olivar Zaragoza landed half a board point behind in penultimate place. However, with CA Cambre's withdrawal, this was irrelevant.
