mode
The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament , the last two were relegated and replaced by the first two of the Segunda División. The game was played on four boards, the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point) decided the placement for a tie, no point for a loss).
Dates and venue
The tournament was held in Torre del Mar from September 8th to 16th .
Season course
UGA Barcelona was in a class of its own and was already the champions before the last round. The relegation of last year's champions UD Las Palmas was sealed prematurely, while three other teams were in danger of relegation before the final round. CA Caja Insular de Ahorros could have saved themselves with a 3: 1 against CA Peña Rey Ardid Bilbao on their own, but won only 2.5: 1.5 and had to let Bilbao go first. Asociación Barcinona needed at least a 2: 2 against CE Olot for relegation and achieved this.
