División de Honor (chess) 2000
The División de Honor (chess) 2000 was the sixth season of the División de Honor and at the same time the 44th Spanish team championship in chess , it was played with ten teams. The champions were the team CA Palm Oasis Maspalomas, which relegated the defending champion CA Marcote Mondariz to second place. CA Reverté Albox, CE Vulcà Barcelona and CA Centro Goya Villa de Teror were promoted from the Primera División. While CA Reverté Albox and CE Vulcà Barcelona reached relegation, CA Centro Goya Villa de Teror had to relegate together with UGA Barcelona and CA La Caja Las Palmas.

mode
The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The last three were relegated to the Primera División and were replaced by the promoted from the Primera División. The game was played on four boards, the placement was first determined by the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the direct comparison and then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a tie, no point for a loss).
Dates and venue
The tournament was held by the Catalan Chess Federation on the occasion of its 75th anniversary from August 5th to 13th in the Hotel Plaza in Barcelona .
Season course
CA Palm Oasis Maspalomas was consistently at the top of the table from start to finish and ultimately won by 3 points. The relegation battle was more exciting, with six of the ten teams in danger of relegation before the last round.
