Spanish team championship in chess 1963
The Spanish team championship in chess in 1963 was the seventh edition of this competition. Ten teams should take part with Real Madrid, CA Alcoy, CA Chardenet Madrid, UGA Barcelona, Ateneo Jovellanos Gijón, Club Palentino, CA Granada, CE Ruy López Paluzie Barcelona, CA Don Bosco Madrid and CA León, but León did not enter. The defending champions Real Madrid, CA Chardenet Madrid and CE Ruy López Paluzie Barcelona fought a three-way battle for the title. CA Chardenet Madrid narrowly won the title; Second Real Madrid were tied on board points but were one team point behind, while third CE Ruy López Paluzie Barcelona was only half a board point behind the two Madrid clubs.

mode
The nine participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament on four boards. The number of points on the board (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Dates and venue
The tournament was held in Palencia from September 6th to 14th .
