from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Spanish team championship in chess in 1960 was the fourth edition of this competition, which was played for the first time on four boards. Eight teams competed, namely two Madrid clubs (the defending champions Real Madrid and CA Chardenet Madrid), four teams from Barcelona (CA Español Barcelona, CA Barcelona, CLA Ruy López Barcelona and CA Paluzie Barcelona) as well as AA Aragonesa Zaragoza SdA and CM Málaga . The champions were the team from CA Chardenet Madrid, who relegated the defending champions Real Madrid with the same number of points to second place thanks to the better team points.

mode

The eight participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament on four boards. The number of points on the board (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).

Dates and venue

The tournament was held from September 21st to 28th in the sports hall of CF Barcelona ( Gimnasio de las Secciones Deportivas del CF Barcelona ).
