The Spanish team championship in chess in 1988 was the 32nd edition of this competition and was held with 24 teams. Champion was CA La Caja de Canarias, while the defending champion CE Vulcà Barcelona had to be content with third place.

mode

The 24 participating teams played eight rounds in the Swiss system , the first five qualified directly for the final round of the Spanish team championship in 1989. The game was played on four boards, the placement was determined by the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the Buchholz score (sum of the board points achieved by the opponents).
