Spanish team championship in chess 1964

The Spanish team championship in chess in 1964 was the eighth edition of this competition. Ten teams took part: Real Madrid, CA Alcoy, CA Chardenet Madrid, UGA Barcelona, ​​CE Ruy López Paluzie Barcelona, ​​CA Barcelona, ​​CA Español Barcelona, ​​CA Tarrasa, CM Málaga and CA Maira Madrid, with CA Español Barcelona replacing the actually qualified team from CMIA Zaragoza, who did not run. CA Barcelona won by 1.5 points and relegated defending champions CA Chardenet Madrid to second place.

mode

The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament on four boards. The number of points on the board (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).

Dates and venue

The tournament was held from August 21 to 29 in the throne room of the Museum of City History ( Museo de la Historia de la Ciudad ) in Barcelona .
