The Spanish team championship in chess in 1987 was the 31st edition of this competition and was held with 24 teams. Champion became the defending champion CE Vulcà Barcelona.

The 24 participating teams played eight rounds in the Swiss system , the first five qualified directly for the final round of the Spanish team championship in 1988.
