Spanish team championship in chess 1957

The Spanish team championship in chess in 1957 was the second edition of this competition. At the start were Real Madrid (champions of Castile ), CA Barcelona (champions of Catalonia and defending champions), CA Tarrasa (runners-up in Catalonia), CA Peña Rey Ardid Bilbao (host) and CA Alcoy (champions of the province of Alicante ). The Spanish team champion was the Real Madrid team that won all competitions and relegated the defending champions CA Barcelona to second place.

mode

The five participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament on eight boards. The number of points on the board decided on the placement (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat).

Dates and venue

The tournament was played from August 28th to September 1st at the Frontón del Club Deportivo Bilbao.
