Castellar del Vallès is a city in the province of Barcelona , Catalonia ( Spain ). The city is located in the comarca Vallès Occidental between Sabadell (7 km away) and Terrassa (11 km away). The area of ​​Castellar del Vallès is bounded by the municipalities of Sant Llorenç de Savall, Matadepera, Terrassa, Sabadell and Sentmenat.

The urban area covers 44.9 km² and is inhabited by 24,187 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019), who are divided into different parts of the city (corresponds to a population density of 539 people / km²). The city lies at an altitude of 331 meters next to the 1105 m high mountain La Mola.
