Wilhelm Friedrich Christian Gustav Krafft
Wilhelm Friedrich Christian Gustav Krafft (born November 21, 1805 in Neustadt an der Aisch , † February 27, 1864 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician .
Life
Krafft studied law at the universities of Erlangen and Heidelberg from 1823 to 1826 . In 1823 he became an active member of the old Erlanger fraternity and, after changing university in 1825, of the old Heidelberg fraternity . In 1827 he began his legal career as a legal intern at the Neustadt an der Aisch regional court and became a lawyer a few years later .
During the German Revolution of 1848/49 , Krafft was a participant in the Frankfurt pre-parliament and a member of the Fifties Committee . In the elections to the National Assembly in Nuremberg, he was elected first substitute as a candidate for the constitutionally moderate electors. Since the chosen Dr. Johann Gottfried Eisenmann gave up the mandate in May 1849 for health reasons, Krafft represented Nuremberg at the Frankfurt National Assembly from May 18, 1848 to May 24, 1849 in the Paulskirche .
He first joined the Casino fraction and then Landsberg . His voting behavior on the Malmö armistice question in autumn 1848 (a seven-month armistice was concluded between Denmark and Prussia) was denounced by his opponents in a violent press campaign. As part of the Paulskirche constitution , Krafft joined the election of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. As German Emperor and was also a member of the Imperial Deputation from March 30 to April 3, 1849. In June 1849, he took part in the Gotha post-parliament .
In the following years Krafft worked as a consultant for the Hutten family foundation in Nuremberg. He was the last private owner of the Welserhof in Nuremberg. The building was renamed Krafftsches Haus after him and acquired by the city of Nuremberg in 1896.
