Wilhelm Gass
Friedrich Wilhelm Joachim Heinrich Gaß (born November 28, 1813 in Breslau , Lower Silesia , † February 21, 1889 in Heidelberg ) was a Protestant theologian and philosopher .
Life
Gaß was born in Breslau, where his father Joachim Christian Gaß (1766-1831), a trusted friend of Friedrich Schleiermacher , was a consistorial advisor and professor of theology . He completed his habilitation at the University of Breslau in 1839, became an associate professor in 1846 , came to the University of Greifswald as a full professor in 1847 , to Giessen in 1861 , and to Heidelberg in 1868 .
