Julius Wilhelm Körber , from 1871 von Körber (born May 2, 1826 in Alvensleben , † August 17, 1914 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian officer , most recently a general of the artillery .

He was the son of the chief bailiff and landowner Wilhelm Körber (born September 5, 1858 in Gorinnen, district of Graudenz ) and his wife Julie, née Reuter (born January 23, 1888 in Gorinnen).

Military career

Körber attended the grammar school in Halberstadt and from 1841 the high school in Graudenz . He then joined the 1st Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner on January 1, 1844 . From October 1844 to the end of September 1846, Körber was commanded to train at the United Artillery and Engineering School, was appointed Portepeef Ensign during this time and, after successfully completing his degree, was promoted to Second Lieutenant on June 22, 1846 and to Premier Lieutenant on June 28, 1856 . He came on May 31, 1869 as a captain in the 2nd Artillery Regiment and on October 1, 1860 for the 1st Artillery Brigade. From there he came on October 30, 1866 to Hanover Field Artillery Regiment No. 10 , where he was promoted to major on June 18, 1869.

On 18 January 1871, he was a Major and commander of the riding ends Division in Hanover Field Artillery Regiment. 10 with the Order le Mérite Pour excellent and the hereditary on 16 June of the same year peerage charged . On December 19, 1871, he was transferred to the shooting school as a teacher. From there he was transferred to Field Artillery Regiment No. 8 on September 27, 1873 and as a leader in Field Artillery Regiment No. 20 on June 9, 1874. On September 19, 1874 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, and on December 21, 1874 Commander of the regiment. But on June 26, 1875, he was transferred as a commander to Field Artillery Regiment No. 6. He was made a colonel on March 22, 1877 and then came on September 22, 1877 as a commander in the 1st Guard Field Artillery Regiment. On November 19, 1878 he was transferred to the Guards Field Artillery Brigade as a leader, and on June 24, 1879 he was confirmed as commander. He was promoted to major general on August 9, 1883, and on November 21, 1884, he took his leave.

However, he returned on September 18, 1886 as commander of the 1st Field Artillery Brigade and was transferred from there on October 9, 1886 as an inspector to the 8th Artillery Inspection. On November 15, 1887, he was promoted to lieutenant general and on December 4, 1888, put up for disposition .
